4- The New Must-Haves for Today’s Home – The Command Center

A command center is usually a desk area, maybe even a recessed nook or a countertop, that is reserved to drop off your paperwork, your bills, your newspaper. OK, this sounds a bit outdated in today’s day and age, given everything nowadays is online.

Nonetheless, you still may need a command center in your home for many other reasons: some like to have a place for crafts, others need a place for homework. And if you still use a desktop computer, a command center is the ideal spot for it.

We have seen the command center being replaced by a wrapping station at a very rapid pace lately. Homeowners choose to have a dedicated area, sometimes in the laundry room, where their wrapping paper is stored, directly above a flat surface large enough to accommodate boxes to be wrapped.

Whether you are a talented crafter (I’m not jealous… ) or a prolific gift giver, a wrapping station may be what you need to call your command center. In any case, the space is virtually identical at the construction stage, as long as you know where in your home you’d like to place it. Therefore, it may be worth contemplating not skipping its inclusion in your design.

Whatever your reason, having a spot dedicated for projects that simply cannot be put away every time you need your kitchen island or your dining room table is quite nice.

If your Home has a unique feature you find indispensable, feel free to share what it is!
