12- The New Must-Haves for Today’s Home – The Walk-In Closet

You may want to consider a bench or sitting area in your walk-in closet. Not only is it nice to have a spot to rest or utilize while getting dressed, but in the event you do not have a mannequin in your closet, it can be a spot to lay out your clothes while you’re in the shower.

The way to enter your walk-in closet is a lot more complicated than it sounds. You could choose to have the door coming directly from your bedroom, or you could choose to have the bathroom between your bedroom and your closet. If you choose the latter, you will gain valuable wall space in your bedroom to place your furniture.

Another big consideration, if it is an option, is to see whether or not you may want to have a window in your master walk-in closet. While the natural light would be wonderful, you need to also look at the potential damage light can do to some articles of clothing.

And finally, would you want to have a laundry center directly in your walk-in closet, so as to not have to bring your clothes from the laundry room back to your closet every time you do laundry. After all, what makes more sense than washing your clothes where you hang them?
